Handheld Validator

PIM’s Handheld Fare Transaction Processor, or HFTP, is a full-function fare transaction processor with the same functionality as the ARIES farebox.

The HFTP is a portable unit that is small enough to be easily carried easily by transit personnel but robust enough to accommodate usage in the normal and harsh transit environment. The unit has a 7-inch display and an elastic strap on the back that makes it easy to hold and carry.

THE HFTP comes with a docking station for hands-free operation at the bus entry area.

The unit is equipped with an optical reader that allows it to read both bar-code and QR-code tickets, decode and validate transfers and limited-use QR cards. This provides the opportunity, for example, for a passenger who paid with cash on a conventional bus to transfer to a Paratransit unit.
